


The word GYMNOVA is a combination of Gymnastics and Innovation : the company’s strategy was summarized in its brand name.
Two former gymnasts and trainers joined forces in 1978 to form GYMNOVA and started up a company. They achieved success through their brimming creativity and enthusiasm. GYMNOVA progressively added to its skills-base by appointing new staff who were often formerly involved in the world of gymnastics.
During the past 30 years, GYMNOVA has seen exemplary growth in spite of periods of profound change. The quality of GYMNOVA's innovations and expertise has given it a reputation which has catapulted it to the top of the world hierarchy of manufacturers; some, who find themselves at a loss for ideas, often draw their inspiration from GYMNOVA's innovations.
1973.... The lack of suitable equipment for the introduction and teaching of gymnastics inspired two gymnastics coaches to develop a whole range of educational items for their club in various combinations exactly to meet their teaching requirements: and so EDUCGYM saw the light.
1978.... The success of EDUCGYM and many innovations on other gymnastics equipment that went along with it led the creators to form the company GYMNOVA: a company whose goal was to innovate, anticipate and meet users’ needs. GYMNOVA was the first French manufacturer to offer a full range of equipment necessary for gymnastics: initiation or introduction, training and competition equipment. The training aspect in particular was much valued (easy to handle, easy to adjust, quick conversion).
1980.... Its products were approved by the F.I.G (the international governing body of gymnastics); GYMNOVA's research was awarded with this approval. Since this date, GYMNOVA's participation in many national and international competitions, in France or abroad, enabled it to affirm its difference and to become the market leader.
1991…Gymnova became more involved in the protection of health and the physical integrity of gymnasts with its revolutionary products. GYMNOVA started sitting on international standardization commissions. A first approach from foreign markets paved the way for its international future.
1993… With the view to offer a full range of products used in acrobatic sports, GYMNOVA acquired the company TRAMPOLAIR (Trampoline, Tumbling, Acrosport).
1996… GYMNOVA moved into new premises and committed itself to Quality procedures in line with ISO 9001 and set up its export department.
2000… GYMNOVA sets up its first website.
2001…2003… GYMNOVA obtained the BVQI certification for “Management through Quality” and positioned itself as one of the three world leaders. Its international ambitions were not utopian. Gymnasts and trainers throughout the world recognized the difference, just as Nadia Comanecci declared; “For me, Gymnova really embodies equipment designed by gymnasts to protect gymnasts”.
Since 2002, GYMNOVA is an Abéo group company.
2004 … The company once again strengthened its position from a sales point of view as well a technical one by recruiting four former gymnasts to meet customers’ needs even more accurately.
2005... the new website went live with a new global dimension of its services.
2006... Gymnova is to be the official supplier to the 39th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships!
2008... Gymnova celebrates it 30 years.
